Cornish Gurnard with Moroccan Chickpea Stew (for Two)

Our development chef, Brett, was recently inspired to create this delicately spiced, slow-cooked, aromatic Chickpea stew to compliment prime Cornish Gurnard fillet. A fabulous bowlful of North African warmth, perfect for a chilly North European evening meal.
You will receive:
280g Gurnard Fillets for Two (supplied frozen)
300g Pouch of Moroccan Chickpea Stew (supplied frozen)
To prepare:
- Defrost the Gurnard, drain, and pat dry with kitchen paper.
- Lightly oil & season the Gurnard then set aside.
- Place the sealed pouch of Moroccan Chickpea Stew into a large pan and cover with hot tap water. Place on the stove & bring to a simmer & let it cook for 10 minutes.
- Preheat a non-stick frying pan over a medium-high heat. Add the Gurnard fillets skin side down & cook for 8 minutes.
- Add a little butter to the pan, then flip the fish & cook for a further 2 minutes. Remove from the pan & onto a plate and allow to rest for a couple of minutes.
- Remove the pouch of Stew from the water & shake gently. Open the pouch & divide between 2 plates, then add a Gurnard fillet to each plate & enjoy!

Gurnard - who knew?!
We are looking forward to our gurnard tonight! It's a fish I'd never tried until I started buying from you and it is now one of my wife's and my favourites. By the way, I really enjoyed Paul's personal video email about the new service. More fish, more meals and better value without all the veg etc. And less weight to transport around the country. A big thumbs up from us.
