One of the unexpected break-out stars of the whole lockdown experience was the Fish for Thought Asian Crab Cake. Dreamed up by our chefs in the dog days of last Spring, when the closure of restaurants left us with a surfeit of crab meat, this nifty little fusion wannabe turned out to be a big hitter - extremely popular with our customers whenever we were able to make enough to put it on the shop. Packed with the silky oriental flavours of coriander, ginger and lemongrass and weighing in at a hefty 180g, this tasty hand-made cake boasts the versatility to work not only as a lunchtime treat, but also as a satisfying starter or as a delicious main course when served with rice or noodles.

As you know, all the products in our seafood kitchen are hand-made in small batches and once they are gone, then they are gone.

Each tray contains 2 x large (180g) Asian Crab Cakes, Frozen.

Ingredients: (Allergens in upper case) Potato, CRAB MEAT(CRUSTACEA), Breadcrumbs (GLUTEN), Ginger, Lime Juice,Chilli, Garlic, Sunflower Oil, Coriander, Aromatic Stock base (SOYA), Chilli Sauce (Sugar, Chillis, Salt, Vinegar(SULPHITES)), Wheatflour (GLUTEN), MILK, Lemongrass, MUSTARD, Salt, Lime Zest.

Phoned the next day to say the same about the kippers and  then sent pictures on Facebook to show the fish which she had cooked with  black butter!

Delighted to receive our combination box on time and it is always exciting to open it and to plan a few menus using the delicious sauces. Homemade fish pie tonight! Delighted to see that you are moving towards ready cooked meals and the crab bake was great for lunch for a single person. We will be repeating that order and I would have thought there was a big market for you in these products, particularly single portions for OAPs who want something to pop into the Aga. Freezer well stocked now!
