One of our most popular products for the festive season over the last few years has been a wonderful trio of smoked fish pâtés. Produced for us by our friends at Tregida Smokehouse, these delicate, flavourful offerings had become a Christmas staple for our customers. Imagine, then, our dismay when the guys at Tregida decided to hang up their smoking gauntlets for good, earlier this year!
Fear not! Our head chef, Brett, and his trusty band of acolytes have taken up the challenge of supplying our customers with superb, hand-made, deliciously fishy additions to any seasonal buffet, when partnered with some interesting crackers, or possibly even toast for you traditionalists out there.
The trio consists of a sparky homemade smoked salmon pate, with a superb depth of flavour imparted by the exceptional smoked salmon, from the ancient red brick smokehouses of John Ross jr of Aberdeen. A sumptuously silky homemade smoked mackerel pate, with delicate layers of smokey flavour given a mischievous lift by a liberal dash of lemon juice. Lastly (but by no means ‘leastly’), a wonderfully elegant smoked trout pate crafted from our fabulous chalk stream trout.
