Hake

The South-West Hake fishery is a great success story with stocks recovering dramatically to fully sustainable levels. A small fleet of netters target this species from the ports of Newlyn, Plymouth and Brixham. It has always been very popular in Spain (it’s their national dish) and Portugal and we are delighted that our customers in the UK are increasingly ordering it. It is a delicious and versatile white fish that incredibly contains 3 times the amount of healthy Omega 3 oils as cod. Here at Fish For Thought, we sell both whole fresh fillets and and both fresh and frozen hake.
