Laksa is a spicy noodle soup popular Southeast Asia. The finished dish consists of thick wheat noodles or rice vermicelli and prawns or fish, served in a fabulous spicy soup based on rich and spicy curry coconut milk. The name comes from the Hokkien "luak sua", meaning "spicy sand", which refers to the taste and texture of ground dried prawns. Historians believe laksa is a dish that was born from travelling Chinese traders and sailors taking local wives on the Malay peninsula, and these women incorporating local spices and coconut milk into Chinese noodle soup served to their husbands. Chef Adam has been busily channelling his inner medieval Malay housewife and come up with his take on this classic soup, leaving you to choose which prawns or fish (or both) to partner with it. Go on, experiment a little!
Each pouch contains 400g of Laksa soup base. Noodles & Fish are NOT included.
