Farmed sea bass comes with the same issues as farmed sea bream. The intensive farming practice uses sea pens that disrupt the fragile marine ecosystems of the Mediterranean coastline, impacting already endangered species such as sea grasses. There are plenty of wonderfully tasty Cornish species that have a far lower impact, so why import farmed sea bass?
We recommend wild line-caught sea bass when it is in season, and frozen line caught sea bass when it is not. You won't tell the difference, believe us! It really is a king among fish.
